Purcell sisters drop 50 points in win over Lasell

(Nashua, NH) The streak continues as the Rivier College Raiders rolled to an 81-58 victory over visiting Lasell College this evening in GNAC Women's Basketball action. The Raiders are now riding an 8 game winning streak heading into Saturday's contest at Saint Joseph's College.

Senior Amandra Purcell (Hudson, NH) continues her quest to reach 1,000 points in a Raider uniform as she connected on 7 three pointers for a total of 29 points. She is now just 15 points away from accomplishing that historic milestone. Her younger sister, freshman Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH) totaled 21 points on the evening as the team improved to 16-6 overall and 10-1 in the GNAC. Sophomore Erin Sweeney (Chicopee, MA) provided 9 points off the bench in the win.

For the Lasers, freshman Alexis Chappell (Springfield, MA) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds – both team highs. Senior JoAnna Bishop (South Burlington, VT), sophomore Kayla Vincelette (Westport, MA) and freshman Danielle Autencio (Montville, CT) each had 8 points respectively in the loss.

With three games and a home playoff game left to play this season, the Women's Basketball team will look to accomplish the program's first 20 win season. Next up for the Raiders will be a battle on the road against Saint Joseph's College, who are currently tied for 1st in the GNAC with a perfect 10-0 conference record. Lasell will host Albertus Magnus in their next contest on Saturday afternoon.
