Connecticut College rallies past Rivier

(Nashua, NH) The Connecticut College Camels used a 15-0 run to open the second half en route to a 79-50 victory over Rivier College in non-conference action inside the Muldoon Fitness Center.

The game was evenly matched through the first 18 minutes of the contest as the Camels (3-2) held a slight 23-22 lead with about 2:25 left to play. Conn. College then took an 11-0 run into the locker room for a 40-28 halftime advantage.

The run continued as the Camels added 15 more to seal the game and hand the Raiders just their second loss of the season.

Rivier (3-2) was led by freshman sensation Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH). The younger Purcell had a team high 16 points on the night. Classmate Shannon Marcoux (Falmouth, MA) played well of the bench as she contributed with 8 points while senior Chelsea Barker (Nashua, NH) added 7 points.
