Williams Routs Rivier 91-42

Williamstown, MA-  Williams had balanced scoring with five players in double figures. Rivier was led by Amandra Purcell (Hudson, NH) who had a game-high 15 points and 6 rebounds.

Williams had an overall size advantage over Rivier which allowed them to dominate the boards 53-30.

Williams jumped out to a quick lead, Chessie Jackson scored 8 out of Williams' first 10 points, which made the score 10-2. The Ephs played with a lot of energy and stifling defense holding Rivier to 20% (5-25) from the field in the first half. Williams continued to increase their lead and the score was 47-16 at the half.

With a comfortable lead Williams was able to give their reserves valuable experience in the second half and everyone that dressed for the game scored. Stephanie Brown stood out in the second half scoring 10 points, hitting three 3's.

Williams improves to 11-0 and Rivier falls to 1-9.  Tomorrow's championship game will be a showdown between two undefeated teams in Williams and Bridgewater State. Rivier will take on Wheaton College in the consolation game.
