Shaylyn Freitas named GNAC Rookie of the Week, again!

(Boston, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced today that Rivier University freshman Shaylyn Freitas (Pelham, NH) was named the GNAC Softball Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Freitas hit an incredible .733 on the week (11-15) including five extra base hits for the Raiders. The rookie drove in seven runs while scoring four and slugged 1.400 on the week. Freitas produced a gaudy .733 on base percentage and also posted a .900 fielding percentage for Rivier.

Freitas and the Raiders will look to secure a spot in the upcoming GNAC Tournament this week as they have key conference games against the University of Saint Joseph (4/11), Emmanuel College (4/12) and Saint Joseph's College (4/13).
