Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Regis (Mass.)

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's volleyball team put together a .453 team hitting percentage to sweep Regis (Mass.) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup at the Muldoon Center on Thursday night.

The Raiders won by set scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-21, and improved to 11-10 (5-1 GNAC) while the Pride dropped to 9-14 (4-5 GNAC).

In a dominating second set, Rivier hit at a .611 clip with 13 kills on 18 swings. Matthew McCloskey hit .800 with four kills to lead the offense in the frame.

Rivier's Neil Rea dropped 27 assists, including nine in the explosive second set, while notching five service aces and 10 digs. Riv has 10 aces to the Pride's one. The Raiders earned 7.0 blocks to Regis' 3.0, with Chris Lezon registering a team-high 2.5.

Next up, Rivier will head to Boston, Mass. for a GNAC tri-match on Saturday, March 23 against Lasell and Emmanuel (Mass.) at the Jean Yawkey Center. The matches are set to start at noon and 2:00 p.m., respectively.
