
Constant Named GNAC Player of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Rivier men's basketball junior guard Matt Constant earned the status of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week following his efforts in a 2-0 week against conference opponents, the GNAC announced Monday afternoon.
In an 85-67 win over Elms on Tuesday, Jan. 7, Constant dropped 22 points on 6-of-14 (42.9%) shooting from the field with eight boards, four assists, and three blocks.
In a 94-68 victory over New England Col. on Saturday, Jan. 11, the Laconia, N.H. native posted 25 points while knocking down seven of his 15 three-point attempts while shooting 52.9% (9-17) from the floor. He tacked on five assists, three steals, two rebounds, and a block in the Raiders' second straight home victory, propelling the Raiders to a 3-0 record against GNAC opponents thus far.
He currently ranks third nationally for Division III in made threes (53) and free throw percentage (95.3). He sits fourth in the GNAC behind graduate teammate Kyler Bosse (19.3) with 18.0 points per game.
Constant and the Raiders look to continue their winning streak in a home matchup against Norwich on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Muldoon Center.
