LEICESTER, MASS. – The Rivier University Field Hockey team returned to action tonight as they fell to Becker College, 3-2 in a non-conference contest held at Becker's Alumni Field. The loss drops the Raiders to 5-6 overall on the season while the Hawks climb to 5-6 overall.

Becker jumped on the board in the 7th minute when Amy Cooper notched her third goal of the year off a pass from Kylian Kelly. Rivier would tie the game in the 29th minute as senior Jaclyn Fraser (Wilmington, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season as freshman Carissa Letendre (Whitinsville, Mass.) was credited with the assist as the team entered the locker room at 1-1 after the first 30 minutes of action.

The Hawks regained the lead inside the 43rd minute when Emily Iacovelli scored her seventh of the year to make it a 2-1 game. Iacovelli then added an insurance goal in the 4th quarter as she knocked home a feed from Cooper at 46:17.

Rivier sophomore Lia Yohanan (Andover, N.J.) cut the deficit to one as she netted her second goal of the season with classmate Maegan Sheehy (Sabattus, Maine) providing the assist in the 59th minute.

Sophomore Katie Olsen (Saugus, Mass.) stopped four of the seven shots she faced on net for the Raiders while Baileigh Griese made just one save on three attempts for Becker.

Next up for Rivier will be a tough road contest against pre-season Great Northeast Athletic Conference favorite, Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Saturday morning. Game time is set for 11am.
