Parent, Naso lead Raiders to victory

PAXTON, Mass. (9.15.12) – Junior forward Christina Parent (Loudon, NH) and junior midfielder Christa Naso (Londonderry, NH) each netted two goals, as the visiting Rivier Raiders defeated conference opponent Anna Maria College 9 - 0, at AMCAT Field on Saturday afternoon. The win is the first on the season for Rivier, improving their record to 1-3-1 (1-1-1 GNAC) on the season, while the AMCATS fall to 1-4 (0-3 GNAC) overall.

Freshman Sarah Benvenuti (Southbridge, Mass.) led the AMCATS in net with 12 saves, while Raiders freshman goalie Kendra Shaw (Raymond, NH) posted the shutout without recording a save.

In addition to the four goals scored by Parent and Naso, the Raiders also received tallies from freshman Adrianna Panagiotopoulas (Dracut, Mass), junior Hillary Hee (Colchester, VT), freshman Sahara Brown (Barnsted, NH), freshman Susan O'Loughlin (Stoneham, Mass), and freshman Paxton LaRocque (Londonderry, NH).

Rivier got on the board early in the first, scoring two goals in the first three minutes of the contest. The Raiders continued to put pressure on the AMCATS defense, scoring an additional three goals in the first half, and four goals in the second half.
