Raiders Fall To Visiting Lasell 15 - 3

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier Women's Lacrosse team (1 – 7, 0 – 2 GNAC) fell to visiting Lasell College (6 – 3, 3 – 0 GNAC) this evening in GNAC Conference play 15 – 3 at Raider Field.  Lasell jumped out to a 4 – 0 lead and pushed the pace through the 1st half, pulling away 9 – 2 at halftime.  Rivier hung in there for the first fifteen minutes and had a couple of chances to pull to within 4 – 2 but the Raiders were unable to capitalize and Lasell built on their lead.  The Lasers put the game out of reach in the 2nd half and took the 15 – 3 road victory.

Rivier was led on the day by Sally Kennedy (FR, Billerica, MA), 2 goals, 8 shots on goal, and 6 ground balls; and Lauren Goodspeed (JR, Merrimack, NH) 1 goal, 3 shots on goal, and 2 ground balls.  In goal, Courtney Laperriere (SO, Keene, NH) went the distance and had 14 saves on the night.

Lasell was paced by Vanessa Pino, 5 goals, 7 shots on goal, and 4 ground balls; and Taylor Yandow, 3 goals, 1 assist, 5 shots on goal, and 4 ground balls.  The visiting Lasers were backstopped by 8 saves from starter Bridget Delaney.
