Women's Lacrosse: Rivier Falls to Visiting Framingham State 15-3

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier Women's Lacrosse team (0 – 3) fell to visiting Framingham State University (1 – 0) this evening 15 – 3 at Raider Field.  The teams battled for the opening 17 minutes of the 1st half, with the visiting Rams holding a 5 – 3 lead 16 minutes in.  The visitors took control of the game with a 6 – 0 run over the final 13 minutes of the 1st half, and went to halftime in command at 11 – 3.  Rivier tightened up defensively in the 2nd half, but they could not muster any goals and the Rams took the 15 – 3 win.   
 
Rivier was led on the day by Sally Kennedy (FR, Billerica, MA) 2 goals, 4 shots on goal, and 1 ground ball; and Amanda Barton (FR, Pelham, NH), 1 goal, 3 shots on goal, and 2 ground balls.  In goal, Courtney Laperriere (SO, Keene, NH) went the distance and had 14 saves on the day. 
 
Framingham was paced by Shae Riley (SO, Fairhaven, MA), 4 goals, 1 assist, 5 shots on goal, and 3 ground balls; and Kimmy Foley (JR, Mansfield, MA), 3 goals, 1 assist, 8 shots on goal, and 8 ground balls.  The visiting Rams were backstopped by 5 saves from starter Indigo Fox Tree-McGrath (SO, Bedford, MA).
 
Next up for the Raiders is a home game versus Nichols College at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 16th.   Framingham State returns to action on March 9th when they travel to play Nichols College as well.
