New Men's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Cross Country Head Coach announced

(Nashua, NH) Rivier College is pleased to announce the hiring of James DeLanoy as the new Head Coach for Men's Lacrosse and Men's and Women's Cross Country.

DeLanoy brings a wealth of knowledge to a young building Raider program. He has spent the last 7 seasons at Southern New Hampshire University where he served as the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Over his six seasons, DeLanoy was able to recruit and graduate three student-athletes who became NCAA All-Americans. He was even selected to be the Head Coach for the East Squad in the 2008 New England Interscholastic Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All Star Game.

A 1992 graduate of New England College, DeLanoy was a member of the Lacrosse team all four years; and was named captain in his junior and senior years. He still holds the school record for points per game (7.16 in '92) and is the third All-Time leading scorer at the time of graduation. He is also the only student-athlete in NEC history to record more than 100 goals and 100 assists in a career.

Since graduating from NEC, DeLanoy has become one of the area's best Lacrosse coaches. He helped start the Derry Youth Lacrosse program, which produced Adam Reel who played in the 2004 NCAA Division I Championship game with Navy. DeLanoy also went back to his roots and was the Assistant Coach/Offensive Coordinator at Pinkerton Academy; he is a 1988 graduate of Pinkerton. In the short three seasons there, he helped guide the Astros to three New Hampshire State Championships.

DeLanoy also made an appearance as an Assistant Coach with the Bermuda World Team at the 2006 World Games hosted by Ontario, Canada.
