Women's Soccer: Raider close out season with loss to MCLA on Senior NIght

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team allowed a goal in each half to visiting Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in the 2018 season finale under the lights at Raider Field. The loss closes out the year for the Raiders with an overall record of 4-12 while the Trailblazers improve to 6-10 on the year with one game remaining.

It was also Senior Night for the Raiders as the program honored their two graduating seniors – Courtney Laperriere (Keene, N.H.) and co-captain Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) – with a short ceremony during the halftime intermission.

MCLA senior Katie Mancini (Bellingham, Mass.) broke the scoreless tie in the 41st minute as she was able to corral a ball from classmate Lauren Mangiardi (Pittsfield, Mass.) and net her 4th goal of the season. Just minutes into the start of the second half, Mangiardi then provided an insurance goal with her 8th goal of the year in the 46th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) made eight saves in the season finale while MCLA junior keeper Megan Richardson (Adams, Mass.) stopped both shots she faced for her 4th clean sheet victory.
