Women's Soccer: Mitchell nets first career goal in 3-0 win at Pine Manor

(Chesnut Hill, Mass.) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team scored three goals in the second half on their way to a 3-0 non-conference victory over Pine Manor College on Monday afternoon. The Raiders are now 4-11 overall on the season while the Gators fall to 2-9.

Freshman Jaida Mitchell (Raymond, N.H.) scored her first career goal in the 56th minute as the team's competed for a scoreless first half. Mitchell received a pass from junior Brittany Fletcher (Tewksbury, Mass.) and buried it for the 1-0 advantage. Rivier would extend their lead seconds later when Fletcher knocked home her 4th goal of the season with an assist credited to Mitchell also in the 56th minute.

Junior Keara Sheehan (Chelmsford, Mass.) provided some insurance in the 58th minute as she netted her third goal of the year to account for all of the Raider offense.

Junior keeper Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) recorded her third clean sheet with two saves on the afternoon. Kristina Guinta made an impressive 17 saves on 20 shots the Raiders took on net.

Rivier will close out the 2018 season on Wednesday night as they host Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at 6pm. It will also be senior night for the Raiders as Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) and Courtney Laperriere (Keene, N.H.) will be honored prior to kickoff.
