(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon to Saint Joseph's College (Me.), 91-50 inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders remain winless at 0-9 overall, 0-4 in the conference while the Monks improve to 13-1, 6-0 GNAC.
Rivier was led by sophomore Lizzy Meehan (Nashua, N.H.) who shot 7-of-12 from the floor on her way to a team-high 16 points. Junior Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) chipped in with 14 points and classmate Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) totaled nine points and a team-high seven rebounds.
The Monks were once again guided by junior Kelsi McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) who recorded a double-double of 14 points and 10 assists. Junior Julia Champagne (Brunswick, Maine) netted the game-high of 19 points with classmate Hannah Marks (Waldoboro, Maine) and Emily Benway (Rochester, N.H.) finishing with 15 & 13 points, respectively. Benway was the game-leader with eight rebounds.
Next up for the Raiders will be their first conference contest against Regis College, who began play in the conference this season, on Tuesday (1/16) night. Saint Joseph's will be back in Standish, Maine for their next contest against GNAC foe Mount Ida College also on Tuesday evening.
