2024 Season Preview: Rivier Cross Country

COACH GOYETTE PREVIEWS THE 2024 SEASON

NASHUA, N.H. — The Rivier men's and women's cross-country teams begin their 2024 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 31 as both squads compete in the Chargers XC Invitational, taking place at Morris Trail in New London, N.H.  The women will hit the ground running at 11 a.m., followed by the men's race set to start at 11:45 a.m.

LAST SEASON

• Both programs competed in five races including appearances in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship

NEWCOMER

• The women's side welcomes three newcomers and welcomes back two returns
• Out of the three newcomers, they have one transfer from the University of Oregon and welcome two first-year student-athletes
• The men's side welcomes three newcomers, one first-year and two first-time runners
• First-year head coach Ellie Goyette takes the helm after running cross country and track at Bryant University for four years

SCHEDULE

• Each program will be taking place in five races this season
• The season opens at the Chargers XC Invitational, hosted by Colby-Sawyer (8/31)
• The regular season will come to end at the Norwich Cadet Invitational on Oct. 4
• The season will conclude with the GNAC Championship at the Norwich Cross Country Course in Northfield, Vt.
