Men’s Cross Country Competes at GNAC Championship

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Rivier men's cross country team participated in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship Saturday afternoon at the Norwich Cross Country Course.

The team placed sixth out of seven squads with a team score of 181.

Senior Sawyer Hall crossed the line first for the Raiders, finishing 39th with a time of 32:17.5. Sophomore Cameron Ingram was the second to finish for Rivier, with a time of 33:57.0, which placed him 52nd overall.

The junior tandem of Tafari Willie and Austin Ovletrea recorded personal-best times for the 8K. Willie beat his previous record by over two minutes with a time of 34:15.7, while Olvetrea beat his by a minute and a half, placing 67th with a time of 37:05.2.

First-year Edgar McIntosh crossed the finish line in 59th with a time of 35:30.6, followed by classmate Brayden Monastero with a time of 38:02.3, which placed him 74th.

The Raiders look ahead to Nov. 16 when they travel to Hopkinton, N.H. for the Division III East Regionals, hosted by Suffolk, at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
