Men's Lacrosse Game Preview Home Thurs. 6pm vs. Norwich

Preview Written by Ruppy Hailey Director of Rivier University Men's Lacrosse Operations

NASHUA, N.H.

The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team (2-2, GNAC 2-2) will host the Cadets of Norwich University (4-2, GNAC 3-1) this Thursday evening in a Great Northeast Atlantic Conference matchup. The faceoff is set for 6:00 PM on Joanne Merrill Field at the Linda Roberts Pavilion. The Raiders are looking to bounce back from a game in which they fell 19-8 to the Cadets earlier this season in Northfield, V.T.

Players to Watch for the Raiders:

Freshman attackman Michael Ference (Salem, NH), the reigning GNAC Rookie of the Week, leads the team this season in both assists (8) and total points (21). Ference has had the hot hand as of late, compiling 10 goals in just the past two contests.

Freshman attackman Connor Eck (Franklin, Mass.) has also been all over the the score sheet in his first four college games. The rookie leads the Raiders in goals scored with 17. Eck was the recipient of GNAC Rookie of the Week honors two weeks ago and has posted a hat-trick in three of his first four career games.

Senior midfielder Jacob Enwright (Dracut, Mass.) leads all non-face off players in groundballs for the Raiders. In addition, Enwright usually draws the assignment to cover the opponent's top midfielder in each game, a role normally reserved for a long stick midfielder. The Co-Captain also contributes immensely to the transition game as well as in wing play on face-offs.

This game marks the 11th overall meeting between the two teams. The Raiders lone victory over Norwich came during the regular season in 2015.
