Pilgrims top Raiders in NAC Field Hockey action

(Nashua, NH) New England College's Jennifer Adams (Jr., Brimfield, MA) and Kate Roberge (Jr., Essex, VT) each recorded hat tricks as the Pilgrims defeated the Rivier College Raiders, 9-1 at Raider Field.

Adams and Roberge combined to score six of the seven goals that the Pilgrims had in the first half. Junior Kristen Tyler (Thornton, NH) was able to get the Raiders on the board when she connected off of a Ashley Ruocco (East Kingston, NH) pass inside the 30 minute mark.

Roberge would complete her hat trick in the second half as she buried home a Kristen O'Connell pass at the 42 minute mark. O'Connell, Mary Roux (Gr., Auburn, MA) and Rachel Carnaroli (Jr., Bellingham, MA) were the other Pilgrim goal scorers.

Rivier's freshman netminded Makenzie Flagg (Shirley, MA) recorded 12 saves in the loss. Both NEC sophomore goalkeepers, Courtney Duquette (Enfield, NH) and Melissa Mower (Bangor, ME) stopped four shots apiece.

Rivier (5-10, 1-7 NAC) will host Bay Path College tomorrow afternoon in a 1pm match up while New England College travels to Troy, NY for a date with Rochester Polytechnic Insititute for a 2pm contest tomorrow afternoon.
