Women's Soccer drops 3-2 decision to Norwich

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team fell at the hands of the visiting Norwich University Cadets this evening, 3-2 at Raider Field in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The loss sends the Raiders to 6-9-0 overall and 1-8-0 in the conference. Norwich earns their first GNAC win as they are now 1-7-1 in conference play and 3-9-1 on the season.

The Cadets would get on the board in the 25th minute as Clara Leister would deflect a shot off a Rivier defender for the early lead.

Rivier would knot the game at one in the 56th minute when sophomore Maggie Cohoon (Derry, N.H.) converted a penalty shot after a foul inside the box.

Norwich would regain the lead just over 10 minutes later as Alex Frank was able to lace a free kick over the outstretched arms of Rivier freshman goalkeeper Lauren Goodspeed (Merrimack, N.H.). The Cadets then added an insurance goal in the 88th minute as Tiana Cass knocked home a pass from Frank.
