Men's Soccer: Rivier blanked by Trinity College

(Hartford, Conn.) The Rivier University Men's Soccer team was shutout this evening on the road against Trinity College, 6-0 in a non-conference contest. The game was originally schedule for last Tuesday but Mother Nature had other plans with lightning strikes in the area which led to the postponement.

Rivier is now 1-3 on the season and Trinity evens out a 1-1.

The Bantams scored three goals in each have for the 6-0 win. Cody Savonen was the leading goal scorer as he registered a natural hat trick – recording three consecutive goals in the contest.

Henry Farr gets credit for the game-winning goal as he connected on a cross from the corner in the 15th minute.

Sophomore Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.) was under siege all night as he saw a total of 16 shots on net, stopped ten of them for the Raiders. The duo of Mateo Zabala & Andrew Clark, who made the only save, combined for the clean sheet.

Rivier will return home and into Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon as they host Emmanuel College. Game time is scheduled for 3:30pm.
