Men's Soccer falls to Colby-Sawyer, 1-0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 affair with Colby-Sawyer College this evening in Non-Conference action at Raider Field. The loss is the third of the season for Rivier (1-3-0, 1-0-0 GNAC) and the win ups the Charger overall record to 3-2-0.

The lone goal came in the 83rd minute when a foul inside the Rivier box allowed Colby-Sawyer a penalty shot in which Alex Ortega capitalized to the visitors the 1-0 advantage. That was the only shot to get past Rivier's sophomore goalkeeper Gary Archambault (Auburn, N.H.) who finished the evening with 11 saves. CSC's Nick Austin stopped all three shots he faced on net.

Both teams will be in conference play in their next contests as Rivier will look to go to 2-0-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Saturday afternoon at Emmanuel College. Colby-Sawyer will travel to Bangor, Maine and battle Husson University in a North Atlantic Conference contest.
