Men’s Lacrosse Picked to Finish Second in North in GNAC Preseason Poll

GNAC PRESEASON POLL

WINTHROP, Mass. – After finishing in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) quarterfinal round in 2023, the Rivier men's lacrosse team has been selected to finish second in the North Division in the GNAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference office released Thursday.

The Raiders recorded 85 points, including five first-place votes, and sit only behind the reigning champion, Emmanuel (Mass.)

Rivier finished 12-4 last season, earning the No. 3 seed in the GNAC Tournament. After falling to eventual runner-up, Saint Joseph (Conn.), the Raiders saw numerous postseason accolades, including eight individuals earning all-conference honors, highlighted by Michael Ference being named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Year.

Head coach James DeLanoy returns for his 13th season at the helm after earning his 100th win on the Raiders' sideline in 2023. DeLanoy posts a 100-76 record, good for a .568 winning percentage, and looks to add to that when his team hits home turf for the season opener on Saturday, Feb. 24 at noon at Merrill Field.
