Rivier Falls 16-8 to Johnson & Wales

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier Women's Lacrosse team lost 16 – 8 to the visiting Johnson & Wales University Wildcats this evening at Raider Field. With the loss, the Raiders move to 6 – 10, 3 – 5 GNAC.  The Wildcats improve to 10 – 5, 7 – 1 GNAC.  Rivier battled back from a 6 – 1 deficit 10 minutes into the game, managing to work back into the game and trailing only 7 – 4 at halftime.  In the 2nd half, Johnson & Wales rumbled out to an 11 – 1 run to take control of the game. 

Rivier was led on the day by Amanda Wickens (JR, Tyngsboro, MA), 3 goals, 1 assist, 5 shots on goal, and 2 ground balls; and Paxton Larocque (SR, Londonderry, NH), 2 goals, 1 assist, 6 shots on goal, and 1 ground ball.  In goal, Courtney Laperriere (FR, Keene, NH) made 6 saves. 

Johnson & Wales was paced by Lydia Knapp (JR, Glens Falls, NY), 6 goals, 3 assists, and 6 shots on goal; Raquel Pederzani (SO, Coventry, RI), 4 goals and 6 shots on goal; and Allison Pazienski (FR, New Hyde Park, NY), with 3 goals, 5 shots on goal, and 1 ground ball.  The visiting Wildcats were backstopped by 11 saves from Cristal Benton (SR, Albany, NY).  

Next up for the Raiders is a trip to GNAC opponent Lasell College for a 12:00 pm game on April 30th.  Johnson & Wales returns to action on the 30th as well with a trip to GNAC opponent Emmanuel College at 12:00 pm.
