Elena Reilly tabbed as GNAC Rookie of the Year, others receive GNAC Honors

(Boston, MA) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference released their All-Conference selections and major award winners this afternoon for Women's Lacrosse and a few Rivier University Raiders were honored.

Freshman Elena Reilly was selected to the All-Conference Second team along with being named the GNAC Rookie of the Year. The Braintree, Massachusetts native had a fantastic season for the Raiders in 2013. She recorded 35 goals, 16 assists for a total of 51 points as she started all 15 games for Rivier in her rookie campaign. Reilly tallied a career high five goals in a game twice this season, including her eight point (5 goals, 3 assist) performance at the University of Saint Joseph. The freshman sensation also recorded a 79.5% shots on goal percentage while collecting 29 groundballs.

There were also two other Raiders selected to the All-Conference Teams.

Senior Lauren Brett was tabbed as a first team attack as she netted 42 goals in her final season. The Otisfield, Maine native also contributed 18 assists and an incredible 83.6% shots on goal percentage.

Junior Rebecca Wickens of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts led the team with 59 goals and 65 points as she was selected as a Second Team Attack. Wickens also picked up 60 groundballs and 14 caused turnovers throughout the season. Over the 15 games that she appeared in, Wickens led the team with 100 shots, including 76 of which were on net. This is the third year in a row that Wickens has been named to the All-Conference teams as she was first team selection in 2011 before earning second team honors last season.

Senior Caitlin Gallagher (Billerica, MA) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
