Archambault earns GNAC and ECAC Weekly Honors

(Nashua, NH) It was announced earlier this week that Rivier University's Men 's Soccer student-athlete Gary Archambault was selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Goalkeeper of the Week and this morning was tabbed as the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.

The freshman goalkeeper from Auburn, New Hampshire was the driving force in leading the Raiders to a 2-1 victory over Endicott College in double overtime. He made 9 saves – including 6 in the second half and 1 in the extra periods as he set the stage for a dramatic win. Four of his Nine saves were tremendous, especially stopping a breakaway shot to preserve the opportunity for a win.

In the second game of the week, Archambault recorded 8 saves in a 2-0 loss to Lesley University.

This is the first time that a Rivier University Men's Soccer student-athlete has earned any Weekly Honors.

Archambault and the Raiders will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they open up GNAC play with a 4pm game vs. Johnson and Wales University.
