Men's Basketball: Raiders outshot by Suffolk, fall 86-62

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team was outshot by the visiting Suffolk University Rams this evening, 54.9% to 29.3% as they fell 86-62 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss is the Raiders' 18th consecutive and they are now 1-19 overall and 0-13 in the conference. Suffolk, meanwhile, improves to 6-14 overall and 5-8 in the GNAC.

Rivier saw freshman Tristian Givens (Windsor, Conn.) lead the way as he totaled 13 points with both freshmen Keith Poitier (East Hartford, Conn.) and Angel Perez (Miami, Fla.) scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively. Givens and junior Matt Vigars (Exeter, N.H.) led the team with six rebounds each.

Suffolk received a night from sophomore Michael Hagopian (Watertown, Mass.) who recorded the game-high of 36 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the floor. Freshman Thomas Duffy (Fairfield, Conn.) registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds while sophomore Kevin Querusio (Millis, Mass.) dished out 10 assists. Sophomore Jim Djema (Greenwich, Mass.) contributed with 13 points for the Rams.

Rivier will look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon when they host Mount Ida at 3pm, followed by the first-ever Rivier Men's Basketball Alumni game at 5:30pm. Suffolk will also be in action on Saturday as they travel across town for a 1pm tip-off at Emmanuel.
