Men's Basketball falls to Albertus Magnus, 87-68

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier Men's Basketball team fell this evening to Albertus Magnus College, 87-68 in a Great Northeast Athletic contest at the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss drops the Raiders to 2-8 (1-2 GNAC) while Albertus Magnus improves to 9-1 (4-0 GNAC)

Rivier was led by freshman Andre Ruff (Lowell, Mass.) with a team high 16 points while sophomore forward Kevin Francis (Cromwell, Conn.) and sophomore Matthew Manning (Peabody, Mass.) added a combined 25 points to Rivier's tally.

Senior guard Tavon Sledge (Spring Valley, N.Y.) scored 33 points and added 3 assists as the Falcons defeated Rivier on Tuesday evening. Senior guard Eian Davis (Brookline, N.Y.) also added 9 points and 8 assists on the night.

Albertus Magnus opened the first half outscoring the Raiders 45-26.  Despite the Rivier's attempt to fight back, the Falcons held off the Raider attack in the second half adding an additional 42 points to their first half total of 45. The Falcons hot shooting was the difference in this one, as they shot 55% from the field while holding Rivier to just 35%.

In their next contest, The Rivier Men's Basketball team will host the Suffolk University Rams in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup at the Muldoon Gymnasium on January 8th at 7:00pm. The Albertus Magnus Men's Basketball team will travel to Norwich University to battle the Cadets in a GNAC conference clash on January 8th at 7:00pm.
