Baseball: Zachary White named GNAC Rookie of the Week

WINTHROP, MASS. – It was announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference earlier this afternoon that Rivier University freshman Zachary White (Long Beach, Calif.) has been selected as the GNAC Baseball Rookie of the Week.

White was honored after helping the Raiders to a 2-4 week, including a double-header sweep over Finlandia University. He started all six games for Rivier at first base and amassed a .385 batting average while knocking in five RBI and recording an On-Base Percentage of .636. White went 5-for-13 with two walks and seven hit by pitches on the week, including going 1-for-1 with four runs scored in the game two win over Finlandia. White wrapped up his week by going 3-for-3 against Saint John's University (Minn.). He also handled all 33 chances cleanly at first base for the Raiders.

White and the Raiders are back in New England for the remainder of their season and will travel to Amherst, Massachusetts tomorrow afternoon for a non-conference contest at Amherst College. Game time is set for 3:30pm.
