Women's Cross Country out runs Pine Manor in Dual Meet victory

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Cross Country team battled Pine Manor College this afternoon in a dual meet while participating in the 2014 Raider Invitational. The Raiders were victorious over the Gators by a score of 19-36. Rivier had all five runners finish in the top six spots to secure the team win.

Freshman Anna Pearsons (Kingston, Mass.) was the race winner as she checked in with a time of 20:12, two minutes faster than Pine Manor's Maria Vaughan who finished 2nd with a time of 22:08. Sophomore Grace Flanagan (Lebanon, N.H.) was the third runner to cross the line at 22:14 while classmate Kathleen Maggio (Londonderry, N.H.) had a time of 24:49 – good enough for fourth. Senior Heather Devereaux (Londonderry, N.H.) crossed the line at 25:23 for fifth place and junior Alicia Brown (Chichester, N.H.) rounded out the top six finishes with a time of 26:45.

Pine Manor had runners finish in places 7 to 12 to account for the Dual Meet.
