Davis places 24th in Raider Invitational

Merrimack takes six top 10 spots, including the individual #1 spot, to earn the team title

(Nashua, NH) Nick Christensen was the first of six Merrimack College runners to cross the line in the top 10 as the Warriors took home the team title in the 2012 Raider Invitational held this afternoon on the campus of Rivier University.

Christensen's time of 25:20 was 27 seconds ahead of teammate Sherif Ali. The pair finished 1 and 2, respectively while fellow Warrior Aaron Maurias came in third at 25:52. Joseph Smith, Adam Gidley and John Lawrence were other three top 10 finishers for the Division II College.

Junior Alec Davis (Amherst, NH) checked in with an overall time of 28:16 – a personal best – as he was the 26th runner across the line. Freshman Joey Moran (Manchester, NH) clocked in with a 30:44 while senior Garon Whitney (Dover, NH) was the third Rivier runner across at 31:29. Kevin Conley (Nashua, NH), freshman Jordan Petro, sophomore Lucas Palma (Bristol, CT), freshman Michael Janerico (Waquoit, MA) and freshman Cory Bounphakdy (Norwich, CT) all crossed the line for the Raiders.

The team will travel to Wenham, MA next Saturday as they will compete in the Pop Cromwell Invitational hosted by Gordon College.
