Men's Volleyball sweeps Emerson

(Boston, Mass.) Make it two in a row for the Rivier University Men's Volleyball team as they swept Emerson College in a road Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this evening in Boston, Mass. The Raiders took the three set match by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-19 to improve to 14-9 on the season with a 4-3 conference mark. Emerson, meanwhile, falls to 7-10 overall, 3-4 GNAC with the loss.

Senior Mike Hadder (Yucaipa, Calif.) and sophomore Grant Andler (Chicago, Ill.) each had 10 digs and junior Ian Wolski (Westfield, Mass.) added eight to lead the Raider offense on the evening. Hadder finished with an outstanding .533 hitting percentage while Andler was right behind him with a .471 hitting percentage of his own. Junior setter Tyler Blank (Rochester, N.Y.) continued his hot streak as he dished out 30 assists and freshman Khaynen Yocca (Plum Borough, Pa.) recorded three total blocks for Rivier. Senior Nick Ochoa (Whittier, Calif.) and sophomore Garrett Bucklin (Jamestown, R.I.) each added seven digs on the defensive side of the win.

For the Lions, Jackson Wiley knocked down eight kills and Mark Piorkowski added six kills in the loss. Nick Rush registered 22 assists and Jared Gross was the dig leader with five.

Next up for the Raiders will be another GNAC contest on Wednesday 3/23 as they host Lasell College. Game time is set for 7pm at the Muldoon Gymnasium.
