Ian Wolski named GNAC/Corvais MVB Offensive Player of the Week

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced this afternoon that Rivier University junior Ian Wolski (Westfield, Mass.) has been selected as the GNAC/Corvias Offensive Player of the Week for Men's Volleyball.

Wolski had a solid offensive showing, putting down 41 kills on 82 swings for a 3.42 kills per set average while hitting at a .329 clip in leading the Raiders to a perfect 3-0 week. He recorded 12 kills and a .346 hitting percentage in a 3-1 win over Johnson and Wales then added 12 more kills against Elms before registering 17 kills in a five set win at Regis College.

This is the fourth time in the first five weeks that a Rivier University student-athlete has been selected as the conference's player of the week. Wolski joins sophomore Matt Heckler (Simi Valley, Calif.), Jan. 25 POTW and junior Tyler Blank (Rochester, N.Y.), Feb. 1st and 8th POTW, as the honored Raiders.

The Men's Volleyball team will be on the road this upcoming weekend as they get set to battle #4 Nazareth, #13 Elmira, #8 Stevenson and SUNY Poly at the Elmira Invitational.
