Men's Basketball: Givens nets 24 points in 99-63 loss to Saint Joseph's

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team dropped another Great Northeast Athletic Conference game this evening as the visiting Saint Joseph's College (Me.) Monks earned a 99-63 victory inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss sends the Raiders to 1-15 overall and 0-9 in the conference while Saint Joseph's evens out at 8-8 and are now 5-4 in the GNAC.

Freshman Tristian Givens (Windsor, Conn.) was the game-high scorer as he led the way with 24 points on 7-of-18 from the floor with a perfect 5-for-5 from the line. He also led the team with five rebounds and five three-pointers made. Classmate Joshua L'Heureux (Dracut, Mass.) also registered a double-digit point night as he finished with 13 points and sophomore Bruce Barton (Webster, N.H.) chipped in with 10 points for the Raiders.

The Monks, who shot 18-of-36 from beyond the arc, were led by sophomore Ben Malloy's (Standish, Maine) 20 points as all of his 6-for-11 were from 3-point land. Junior Aaron Hall (Haverhill, Mass.) had a solid evening with 16 points with sophomore Marc Corey (Londonderry, N.H.) collecting nine points and nine rebounds. Freshman Mario Nery (Bronx, N.Y.), 14 points, and senior John Crawley (Fitchburg, Mass.), 13 points, both did damage in a reserve effort for Saint Joseph's.

Rivier will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they host Norwich University in a 12pm GNAC contest at the Muldoon Gymnasium. Saint Joseph's will also be in GNAC action on Saturday as they travel to Lasell College for a 3pm tip-off.
