(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team fell this afternoon to the seven-time defending Great Northeast Athletic Conference champions, Lasell College by a 6-0 final at Raider Field. The loss sends the Raiders to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference while the Lasers improve to
Senior goalkeeper Lauren Goodspeed (Merrimack, N.H.) made seven saves on the afternoon as she saw a plethora of shots. Lasell outshot the Raiders 19-1.
Lasell senior Casey Meissner (Sandwich, Mass.) netted two goals on four shots, including the eventual game-winner off a corner kick from Erika Badger (Scituate, Mass.) just 8:30 into the game. Badger would net her own goal and assist on another one as the Lasers held a 3-0 lead at the half.
Next up for Rivier will be another GNAC contest on Friday evening as they welcome Albertus Magnus to Raider Field for a scheduled 6pm kick-off. Lasell will host Springfield College on Tuesday afternoon at 4pm.
