Senior Saturday: 2020 Women's Lacrosse

NASHUA, N.H. – As a part of our "Senior Saturday" series, we would to recognize the efforts of our Spring Seniors, who due to the COVID-19 pandemic never received an opportunity to be acknowledge in their final home games of their careers. Today we are honoring the 2020 Women's Lacrosse Senior Class.

2020 Women's Lacrosse Senior Class

These six Raiders have been an essential part of the Rivier Women's Lacrosse team over the past four years. They have helped the team make the conference tournament twice during their four-year career. Their commitment and determination is one that has bettered the team and will be remembered in the future Raiders to come. They have been the backbone for this team and will be truly missed. Here are our six seniors:

Kayla Phelps is a two-year defender for the Raiders. A nursing major from Laconia, N.H., this year Kayla has helped this program grow with her positive attitude and supportive words. Playing in 13 games, and getting to start in nine of them Kayla has complied six ground balls and nine caused turnovers. She has been an energetic defenseman and player for the Raiders. Kayla is an extremely hard working and dedicated player who is a true student-athlete.

Kayla Foye is a three year attacker for the Raiders. A nursing major from Billerica, MA, her high energy and knowledge for the game, Kayla has been a huge part of the program. Playing in 31 games, and getting to start in 24 of them Kayla has put up 6 goals and 2 assists. Along with 13 groundballs and 32 caused turnovers, she has been an enthusiastic attacker and player for the Raiders. Wearing #7 Kayla was a good role model for future Raiders with her way of pumping up the team.

Katherine Wogan is a three-year defender for the Raiders, taking one year off due to injury. She is a nursing major from Dunstable, Mass. During her time in blue and white, she has been a force to reckon with on defense, Katie played in 29 games, starting in 25 of them. She has accumulated 38 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. Katie has been a positive influence for the team and for future Raiders. Katie has been relentless with the ability to stop anyone going to goal.

Dzenana Omerovic is a four-year attacker for the Raiders, biology major from Revere, Mass. During her time as a Raider, she has been an important member of this program, Dzenana played in 46 games, starting in 39 of them. She has accumulated 69 goals, 11 assists, and 43 ground balls. Dzenana has a lot of knowledge for the game and a shot to rattle any goalie. Dzenana has been relentless with the ability to come up big when it counts.

Shaely Porini is a four-year starter on defense for the Raiders. A biology major from Bristol, Conn. and a captain for the 2020 season, Shaely has been an amazing impact player while dressed in blue and white for the Raiders. Playing in all 46 games of her career and starting in 44 of them. Shaely has complied 61 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers. Shaely has been a role model to her teammates throughout her career with her passion and knowledge of the game. Shaely has been an intricate part of the development of the program here at Rivier!

Amanda Barton is a four year midfielder for the Raiders. A human development major from Pelham, N.H. and a captain for the 2020 season, Amanda has had a huge impact for the Rivier Raiders. Amanda is an active player playing in 46 games and starting in all 46 of them. When she steps on the field, Amanda is a true competitor. She has compiled 88 goals and 25 assists. Along with that, she has 121 groundballs, 108 draw controls, and 36 caused turnovers for the Raiders. Over the past four years, Amanda has left her mark on the program always playing with heart and hustle. Amanda has been a true team player stepping up big when it counted.
