Men's Soccer Introduces Gameday Commentators.

It is with great pleasure the Rivier University men's soccer program welcomes Alumni Javier Laureano and Victor Joubert back to Rivier as part of the game day operations team as commentators.  This dynamic duo is no stranger to Rivier University Athletics as they both played soccer during the programs most formative years (2002-2007). 

Javier "Jav" Laureano, was an integral part of the 02' squad that reached the GNAC Playoffs.  He also played men's volleyball from 2002-2006 and was inducted into the Rivier University Athletics Hall of Fame his senior year. Jav was born, raised and currently resides in Haverhill, Massachusetts with his wife and two sons. Javier tells us, "We're excited to bring our energy and passion from @TheRivPod to collaborate with our alma mater!"

Victor "Vic" Joubert is also a former men's soccer player.  He served as captain from 2003-2007 and started every game as the Raiders goalkeeper. Vic is also a Haverhill native but currently resides in Londonderry, N.H. with his wife and son. Victor says, "I look forward to bringing my original self and love of soccer to the Riv men's soccer booth!"

Coach Barbosa shares his enthusiasm about the collaboration.  "Jav and Vic have the passion, energy, and soccer knowledge to be tremendous assets to our gameday operation and livestreaming experience." They will be providing pregame analysis, in-game play-by-play and color commentary, post-game analysis and interviews.  They are surely going to bring a positive energy to the environment while entertaining those tuning-in on the live stream."  The duo plans to host all the home games this fall and promises to bring good vibes and articulate commentary. 

Tonight, the Raiders host the Rivier University Preseason Invitational between the Falcons of Fitchburg State University, the Knights of Northern Essex Community College and your Rivier University Raiders! 

Game Schedule is as follows:

6:30PM: Rivier University vs. NECC

7:30PM: Rivier University vs. FSU

8:30PM: FSU vs. NECC

The game will not be streamed, however you're welcome to come down and watch!
