NASHUA, N.H. – Two second half goals were the difference as the Rivier University Men's Soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback this evening to visiting Emmanuel College under the lights at Joanne Merrill Field. The loss puts the Raiders at 1-9-1 overall and 0-4-0 against the conference while the Saints improve to 5-4-0 overall, 2-1-0 in the GNAC.

Emmanuel broke the scoreless tie in the 52nd minute when sophomore Robert Danielian (Watertown, Mass.) collected a pass from classmate Alec Erskine (Coventry, R.I.) and dribbled around the defender and placed the ball in the back of the net. Sophomore Kyle King (Gorham, Maine) was also credited with the secondary assist on the goal.

The Saints then added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute. Erskine gathered a loose ball from about 35 yards away and drilled a shot home to the back of the net.

Rivier senior goalkeeper Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.) made eight saves on the evening while his counterpart, Emmanuel senior Jonathan Ferrarini (Hanover, Mass.) stopped both shots he faced on net.

The Raiders will remain in GNAC action when they return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon with a road trip to Albertus Magnus College. Game time is slated for a 1pm kickoff. Emmanuel will also be back on the field this Saturday afternoon as they travel to Suffolk University.
