Men's Soccer: Raiders edged at home by Johnson & Wales, 1-0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Soccer played another tough Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at home this afternoon as they battled but ultimately fell to Johnson and Wales University, 1-0 up at Raider Field. The Raiders slide to 1-6-1 overall on the season with a 0-2-1 conference mark while the Wildcats improve to 6-1-0 (2-1-0 GNAC).

The lone goal came in the 54th minute when JWU junior Jozef Jennings (Barrington, R.I.) capitalized on a penalty kick and shot low left side to break the scoreless tie.

Rivier sophomore goalkeeper Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.) was outstanding between the pipes as he made 10 saves. The Wildcats' Nicholas Mancini (Sr./Toms River, N.J.) stopped the only shot he faced on net.

Next up for the Raiders will be a GNAC road tilt at Mount Ida College next Saturday night. The Wildcats will be back in action on tomorrow afternoon as they travel down to Roger Williams for a 1pm kickoff.
