
Gagnon Earns GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week Nod
WINTHROP, Mass. – Graduate goalkeeper Sawyer Gagnon was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week after backstopping the Rivier men's lacrosse team a 2-0 (1-0 GNAC) start with wins over Wheaton (Mass.) and Lasell.
In Wednesday's season-opener at Merrill Field, Gagnon made 11 stops as the Raiders handled the Lyons, 10-7.
On Saturday, the Gorham, Maine product made 14 stops to help Rivier defeat Lasell for the first time in the all-time series, which dates back to the 2010 campaign.
Overall, Gagnon posted a 64.1% save percentage with a 7.00 goals against average.
Gagnon and the Raiders return home on Saturday, March 8 for a non-conference matchup against Roger Williams with a 1:00 p.m. start time scheduled.
