Women's Volleyball: Dunster, Raiders top Suffolk in four-sets

(Boston, Mass.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team earned a four-set win over Suffolk University this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action inside the Regan Gymnasium. The Raiders are now 10-5 overall with a 5-0 record against conference competition while the Rams fall to 2-8 overall, 1-2 in the GNAC.

Junior Taylor Dunster (Sutton, Mass.) led the way for Rivier as she hammered down 14 kills and scooped up 12 digs. Freshman Sydney Racevicius (Woodbury, Conn.) chipped in with 11 kills and junior Jessica Whyte (Plymouth, Mass.) added eight kills to bolster the offense. Senior setter Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) dished out 37 assists on the night to go along with six kills, a .417 hitting percentage and 10 digs. Whyte also collected six total blocks in the four-set win and senior Taylor White (Dunstable, Mass.) led the defense with 16 digs.

Kayla Barbera recorded the game-high with 17 kills and both Hannah Fabiano and Chidera Nwankwo added 10 kills each. Talia Lombardo handed out 39 helpers and Dakhensey Marcellus picked up 26 digs.

Rivier will return to action on Thursday night as they host University of New England beginning at 7pm.
