Women's Volleyball: Antczak, Raiders sweep Emmanuel 3-0

(Boston, Mass.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball ran their impressive winning streak to 13 this evening as they swept Emmanuel College, 3-0 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Andy Yasinoff Court. The Raiders are now 18-5 overall with a perfect 8-0 mark against conference competition while the Saints fall to 7-11 overall and 4-4 in the GNAC.

Rivier also extended its consecutive set winning streak to 21 with scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-14.

Junior Taylor Dunster (Sutton, Mass.) led the offensive effort with eight kills and freshman Sydney Racevicius (Woodbury, Conn.) chipped in with seven kills. Graduate Courtney Collins (Litchfield, N.H.) swung at a .308 clip as she hammered down six kills and totaled five blocks. Senior setter Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) directed the offense with 26 assists and freshman Leah Giampietro (Coventry, R.I.) provided help along the backline with 17 digs. Freshman Avery Pollard (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) also had a solid evening as she totaled five blocks to go along with her five kills and four digs.

Emmanuel was paced by Mary Shelow, who had the game high of 10 kills. Carly Church dished out 14 assists to lead the Saints and Katherine Journeay scooped up 12 digs.

Next up for the Raiders will be a battle of the undefeateds as they travel to Johnson and Wales University, who are 7-0 in the conference, on Saturday morning at 10:30am.
