NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier University Women's Soccer team suffered another heartbreak this evening as they dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest to visiting Emmanuel College, 1-0 under the lights at Joanne Merrill Field. The loss sends the Raiders to 2-8-2 overall on the season with a 0-6-1 mark against the conference while the Saint improve to 5-2-0 in the GNAC and 6-7-0 overall.

Emmanuel finally broke the scoreless affair at 56:00. After the Saints were awarded a corner kick, sophomore Kennedy Davignon (Woodstock, Conn.) lifted a ball into the 6-yard box where senior Natalie Dash (East Hampton, Conn.) was able to leap and head the ball into the far corner of the net. It was Dash's seventh goal of the season and it gave Emmanuel the 1-0 advantage.

Rivier senior goalkeeper Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) made six saves on the night while Emmanuel freshman keeper Alyssa Crugnale (Middleton, Mass.) recorder her second clean sheet of the year with three saves.

The Raiders will enjoy the long weekend off before they prepare to take on Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont on Wednesday, October 16 in another conference tilt. Emmanuel will also return to action on Tuesday evening as they host Johnson and Wales University with a 7pm kickoff.
