(Fitchburg, Mass.) The Raiders suffered an 18-4 loss to the Falcons in a non-conference matchup at Elliot Field in Fitchburg, Mass.  The loss drops the Raiders to an 0-2 record and the win lifts the home team to 1-0.

The first half was paced by the Falcons as they scored nine unanswered goals. At the 5:36 mark, senior Dzenana Omerovic (Revere, Mass.) responded with an unassisted goal.  It started when the Falcons were dispossessed after a draw control and Omerovic picked it up and took it straight to net.

The second half the Raiders came out with some authority netting two goals in less than thirty seconds of each other.  The first goal started with a Falcons turnover that was scooped up by Kinglsey.  Eventually the ball was possessed by sophomore Tara Saliany (Nashua, N.H.) who linked up with team captain Amanda Barton (Pelham, N.H.).

The next point was notched by Omerovic right out of the draw control that was won by junior Stephanie Walen (Litchfield, N.H.).  The ball eventually found Omerovic's stick, then finally found the back of the net with no assistance needed.

It was Barton who notched an unassisted  goal to close out the scoreing for the Raiders with twelve minutes to go in the game closing the gap to 14-4.

The home teams attack was paced by Madison Alves who scored four of her seven shots, she also collected 6 ground balls.  The Raiders attack was led by Dzenana Omerovic who scored 2 of her 4 shots on net.  Saliany earned a team high four groundballs in the midfield and won three draw controls.

Omerovic currently leads the Raiders with six goals and Barton sits atop the assist category with three assists.  To date Kingsley has collected an impressive 37 saves in the contest.  After this performance she has settled into the #4 spot for Goalie Leaders in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

Up next for the Raiders will be a GNAC showdown against the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College (1-0) at Joanne Merrill field on Saturday at 1PM.
