Women's Basketball: Raiders fall short to Saint Joe's

Standish, Maine – Rivier Women's Basketball team lost a Greater Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest to Saint Joseph's College of Maine in the Harold Alfond Center, 87-51. The Raiders move to 4-18 (0-9 GNAC) on the season while the Monks improve their overall record to 16-8 (8-2 GNAC).

Freshman Arianna Motivala (Nashua, N.H.) led the way for the Raiders with shooting a game high 15 points while also collecting six rebounds. Sophomore Cydney Lessard (Auburn, N.H.) pitched in with nine points while junior Catherine Torpey (Melrose, Mass.) came off the bench and chipped in her own eight points. Freshman Heather Ries (Mont Vernon, N.H.) came down with six rebounds and added nine points on the night.

The Monks were led by senior Lexi L'Heureux-Carland (Bridgton, Maine) who dropped 12 points and collected four rebounds coming off the bench. Also coming off the reserves was sophomore Grace Philippon (Glenburn, Maine) who also dropped 12 points on the night. Junior Jordan Jabar (Waterville, Maine) pitched in with seven points on the night while also collecting six rebounds.

Rivier will wrap up their 2019-2020 season on Saturday afternoon as they celebrate Senior Day with a scheduled 3:00 p.m. tip-off against Suffolk University. Before the game begins, the Raiders will honor their two seniors Jackelyn Robarge (Belmont, N.H.) and Keara Sheehan (Chelmsford, Mass.). The Monks will finish their campaign with a conference contest against Regis College with a scheduled 1:00 p.m. tip-off.
