(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Softball team capped off their week with a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference victories over visiting Anna Maria College in a conference double-header at Raider Field on Sunday afternoon. The wins move the Raiders' record to 7-9 on the season and 2-0 in the GNAC while the AMCATS fall to 0-12, 0-4 GNAC.

Freshman Kellie Kennedy (Hudson, N.H.) was brilliant as she spun a complete game shutout in the 5-0 win over Anna Maria to begin the day. The right-hander struck out five and allowed just four hits for her third win in three days.

Offensively the Raiders pushed across the five runs on four hits. Junior Mikayla Ramsdell (Salem, N.H.) continues to remain red hot at the plate as she finished 1-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Sophomore Taylor Rowsell (Chelmsford, Mass.) also knocked in a run as she went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and junior Jess Silva (Tewksbury, Mass.) recorded an RBI as well.

Anna Maria's Victoria Falco also threw a complete game in defeat as she allowed five runs, one earned, on four hits. Amanda Lemire and Sabrina Carreira each went 1-for-3 while Kayla Magierowski & Hannah Trudo finished 1-for-2.

Game Two: Rivier University 16, Anna Maria 2 (Final/5 innings)

The Raiders came out swinging in the finale as they pounded out 15 hits on their way to a 16-2 game two victory. Rivier plated eight runs in the first inning, three in the second and five in the fourth for their sixth consecutive win.

Sophomore Tayla LeGrand (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Rowsell each went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to lead the offensive outburst. Ramsdell added a 2-for-3, 3 RBI afternoon and junior Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) also went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. Senior Evelyn Susko (Hudson, N.H.) was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate and freshman Katie Welch (Wilmington, Mass.) was 1-for-1 with a RBI in the win.

Rowsell was the pitcher of record as she threw all five innings allowing two runs on four hits while retiring four by way of the k.

Lemire suffered the loss for the AMCATS as she allowed the 16 runs on 15 hits. Magierowski went 2-for-3 at the dish and both Lemire & Jacqueline Lapierre added base hits.

Next up for the Raiders will be a road trip to Northfield, Vermont on Thursday afternoon for a GNAC Double-Header at Norwich University. Anna Maria will travel to Clark University for a pair of games on Tuesday afternoon.
