The first was an individual honor for freshman Aaron Almario (Alhambra, CA) who was recognized as the2011 NCAA Division III statistical champion for BLOCKS PER SET.

Hoboken NJ - The North Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) held its annual Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday April 2nd and three Rivier College representatives were inducted into this year’s class. Nhut Chau (’06), Andy Chace (’06), and Coach Craig Kolek were all honored at the induction ceremonies.

Hoboken NJ - Rivier College (33-9 overall; 11-1 GNAC) made it to the semi-final round of the North Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) tournament but came up just short of advancing to the championship round of the last ever NECVA tournament. Senior Jared Andreozzi and sophomore Taylor Lindner were named to the All Tournament Team for their all around solid play over the course of the Raiders three matches in the tournament.

Rivier men’s volleyball senior outside hitter Jared Andreozzi (Barrington, RI) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week after leading the Raiders to their fourth consecutive GNAC men’s volleyball championship this past weekend.

Nashua, NH - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced the 2011 Men's Volleyball All-Conference teams on Saturday, March 26th and Rivier landed six of its players onto various all-conference teams. The 2011 GNAC champions posted a 31-8 overall record while going 11-1 in conference play thus far in 2011.

JERSEY CITY, NJ…< /span>The regular season is nearing completion, the divisional champions have been crowned and the selections for the 17th and final North East Collegiate Volleyball Association championship tournament have been determined. After more than three months of competition, the field of 16 which will compete for the 2011 NECVA Championship from Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3 at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ was announced Monday by the NECVA Tournament Selection Committee.

Nashua, NH – For the fourth straight season Rivier College has won the GNAC men’s volleyball championship with a 3-1 victory over Lasell College by scores of 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 25-17. Raiders senior outside hitter Jared Andreozzi (Barrington, RI) was named the tournament MVP after dropping 16 kills against Johnson & Wales University in the first semifinal match of the day, followed by 22 kills against Lasell in the finals.

Nashua, NH - #11 Rivier College (11-1 GNAC; 28-8 overall) defeated Johnson & Wales University 3-0 to clinch the #1 seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoffs. Rivier’s three seniors, Jared Andreozzi (Barrington, RI), John Furka (Massapequa, NY), and Steve Wood (Spencerport, NY), all played their last regular season game of their careers in The Muldoon and put their own signature on the victory.

Nashua, NH - #9 Rivier College (8-1 GNAC; 24-7 overall) defeated GNAC opponent Lasell College 3-0 behind 9 team ace serves and 9 team blocks to help lift the Raiders to their 8th win in the conference. Middle hitters Alex Xenidis (Shelton, CT) and Taylor Lindner (Cheshire, CT) combined for 10 kills on 14 attempts with no errors for an explosive .714 hitting percentage to help the home team win by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-15. The duo were also involved in 6 of the Raiders 9 blocks.

New York, NY - #8 Rivier College (23-6 overall; 7-0 GNAC) defeated Kean College, Elmira College and Milwaukee School of Engineering in straight sets to improve to 23 wins on the season. The three wins were highlighted with a takedown of #14 MSOE by the scores of 26-24, 25-13, 25-17. The Raiders lone loss of the weekend came at the hands of #10 Carthage College by the scores of 19-25, 15-25, 25-19, 25-27.
