Poitras tabbed as GNAC Player of the Week

For the first time this season, a member of the Rivier University Men's Basketball team has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Player of the Week.

Earning those honors was junior forward Tom Poitras. A Bow, New Hampshire native, Poitras was the main reason why the Raiders earned a 2-1 week against GNAC competition. The junior averaged 20.7 points and six rebounds per game. He scored the go-ahead basket with less than 30 seconds remaining in a 53-52 win over Emmanuel, a day where he earned his first double-double of the season (21 points/11 rebounds) while also recording two steals and two assists on the week.

Rivier Men's Basketball returns to action on Thursday evening as they travel to Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont for a 7pm tip-off.
