Perenick named Director of Athletic Communications

NASHUA, N.H. – Rivier University announced the hire of Nick Perenick as its Director of Athletic Communications on Tuesday.

Perenick comes to Nashua from Nichols College where he served as the Director of Athletic Communications since September 2022. With the Bison, he promoted the academic and athletic achievements of student-athletes across 24 sports and directly supervised a full-time assistant, graduate assistant and over 20 student employees.

"Nick is a rising star who will be a key member of our Athletics administrative staff," said Director of Athletics Jonathan Harper. "He will tell the story of our student-athletes, coaches, and programs. Rivier athletics will benefit from his multimedia talents as we enhance our social media presence, redesign our website, upgrade our video broadcasts, and engage more families, recruits, and alumni."

"I am excited to be joining Rivier as the new Director of Athletic Communications," said Perenick. "I would like to thank Director of Athletics Jonathan Harper and the department's staff for welcoming me aboard and granting me a great opportunity to tell the stories of the University's student-athletes. I appreciate the sense of community here at Rivier and look forward to contributing to that atmosphere."

At Nichols, Perenick oversaw all of the department's social media efforts, including the strategic planning and execution across Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. He drafted press releases and game recaps to highlight student-athlete success and implemented a new web streaming platform, providing a high-quality viewing experience for Bison supporters on the Internet.

Prior to his work at Nichols, Perenick was the Graduate Assistant in the Sports Information office at Suffolk University and worked with 19 of the Rams' programs. He also gained valuable experience as an intern at Mount Holyoke College and Western New England University, inputting statistics, creating graphics and working on other projects.

Perenick is a 2020 graduate of Springfield College, receiving a bachelor's degree in Communication and Sports Journalism. He received a master's degree from Suffolk in 2022 in Communication Advertising with a Public Relations track.
