Women’s Soccer Blows Past Falcons 5-0

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier university women's soccer team defeated the Falcons of Fisher College this evening in non-conference action on Joanne Merrill Field by a score of 5-0.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/25/2021

- Score: Rivier 5, Fisher 0

- Records: Fisher (2-8), Rivier (3-12-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders played an aggressive match from the start putting up three goals in the first half. Avery Martin (Milford, NH) got the scoring started just two minutes into the game.

-  The game remained 1-0 until Rivier added two more goals back to back, starting with Meagan Minaya (Alton, NH) scoring on a ball that was tipped by a defender on a corner kick. The last goal in the half was scored by Micayla Bourski (Pawtucket, RI).

- The second half saw two more Raider scores. In the 59th minute Elizabeth Chauvette (Goffstown, NH) received a perfect cross from teammate Kaylee Magoon (Loudon, NH). Bourski found the back of the net again off of a deflected corner just from outside the top of the 18 to tally the final goal of the night.

- For the Falcons, goalkeeper Ameilia Schaefer saw 24 shots on goal and was able to save 19.

-  Saves: Fisher 19, Rivier 4

- Corner Kicks: Rivier 18, Fisher 1

UP NEXT:

- Rivier women's soccer will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Emmanuel College for another GNAC matchup. Kickoff is slated for 5 pm.
