Women's Basketball holds on for 88-83 victory over Fisher College

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team received a 29 point performance from freshman Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) as they earned an 88-83 win over visiting Fisher College in a cross-association contest this evening at the Muldoon Gymnasium.

Kacavas shot 10-for-14 from the floor with a pair of 3-pointers to lead the Raiders to their eight win of the season (8-7 overall). Junior Savanna Butterfield (Londonderry, N.H.) added yet another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while classmate Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, N.H.) added 23 points in the victory.

Trailing 43-31 after 20 minutes of play, junior Caitlin Bulger (Quincy, Mass.) lifted the Raiders as she drilled 3 three pointers and added a jumper for a total of 11 points in the third quarter as Rivier erased the 12 point deficit and outscored Fisher, 33-9 in the quarter.

Fisher was paced by sophomore Murphy Carroll (Methuen, Mass.) who had the team high of 25 points, including five 3-point field goals. Freshman Aliyanah McIntosh (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was just as dominate as she added 23 points while senior Christine Briggs (Rumford, Maine) collected 11 rebounds. Sophomore Madison Carroll (Methuen, Mass.) chipped in with 12 points and freshman Jillian Williams (Berlin, N.H.) provided 10 points in a reserve effort for the Falcons.

The Raiders will return to Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Emmanuel College for a 1pm tip-off. Fisher will host Daniel Webster College on Saturday afternoon as well. Game time is set for 2pm at the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium.
